Hdmi hd projector8/1/2023 There's also no battery so you'll need to plug it in. Read our Anker Nebula Solar Portable review.Īnker Nebula Cosmos Laser 4K: Since it has a handle and a compact size, the Cosmos Laser 4K is technically portable, but it's hardly mini at more than 10 pounds. While the Anker Mars II Pro has its own issues, overall it's the better option for the same money. It sports 1080p resolution, but it's not very bright and the contrast isn't great. Read our LG HU810PW review.Īnker Nebula Solar Portable: The Solar Portable is a portable projector with a built-in battery that lasts 3 hours. The contrast ratio is quite poor, so it doesn't look nearly as good overall as other projectors in its overall price range. It's also quiet and sports an attractive, boxy case. LG HU810PW: The HU810PW is a higher-end, laser-powered projector with 4K resolution that's able to create some lovely, colorful images. If you need some extreme light output, the Epson HC2350 mentioned below doesn't look quite as good, but is far brighter. If your budget is around $1,000 and you have a light-controlled room, this is the projector to get. Head to head with its predecessor, the older projector still looks great, but overall the HT2060 is a little bit better. However, because you don't need to replace the lamps, the cost of ownership over the projector's lifetime is far lower compared to the HT2050A. The HT2060 is about 25% more expensive to purchase. The downsides are a reduction in brightness overall, though the HT2060 is still a bright projector. The second is impressive color accuracy and depth. First, the LEDs should last the life of the projector. New to the HT2060 is a move to LEDs instead of a traditional lamp to create light. It has many similarities, including 1080p resolution, lens shift and great color accuracy. If this will be in your living room, higher is better. The BenQ HT2060 replaces our long-time favorite, the HT2050A. If you plan on adorning a dark home theater, you can get away with a lower number. Dim projectors can project just fine in the dark, but it takes high lumens to cast a crisp picture in a bright room. This mainly comes into play when you have well-lit rooms. The higher the lumens, the brighter the picture. Lumens - Lumens determine how bright the projector's light is. You want the first number to be as high as possible. The contrast ratio will be in the form of a number:1, like 1,000:1 or 1,000,000:1. This is important because it allows your projector to display a full range of colors without getting too grainy or washed out. The lower resolution, the more boxy your image will be.Ĭontrast Ratio - The contrast ratio is determined by the difference in color between the brightest brightness a projector can achieve and the darkest black. Resolution - Like a TV, your projector's resolution determines how sharp and clear your picture will be. All the same, our reviewer considers it a minor issue, but still one worth mentioning. During normal use, it's hard to see, but in our testing, it became pretty clear. One minor issue is a slight variance in luminance from edge to edge of the screen. That's a ton of coverage and versatility, meaning you can use this projector in any tight space, including a bedroom or a dorm room. This is a short-throw projector, which means it can fill up to a 100-inch screen from just under 5 feet away. But most of all, this projector was built for gaming, with low-input lag from your game system and controllers. Plus, the 2,200 lumens will work in just about any room, even one that sees light from the outside. This projector boasts a 15,000:1 contrast ratio for great detail in darker scenes. If you want to get your game on in high resolution, the BenQ HT2150ST is for you. Movies and boardroom presentations aren't the only use for projectors. Given its price, we consider that to be an acceptable compromise, but if you're a competitive gamer, you'll want something with much lower latency. If you're not into online gaming or battle royales, that probably won't make much of a difference to you. Single-player games run just fine, but when you get into a multi-player setting, and especially a competitive setting, the 50ms of input lag can affect your overall performance. Maybe that won't bother you if you have a few extra seconds on each end, but we also noted a bit of lag when it comes to gaming. Unfortunately, slow is a bit of a theme for this projector, since our tester also noted slow boot-up and shut-down times. Our tester found that its 2,200 lumens were quite bright enough for broad daylight, which can be challenging for many projectors. The BenQ is a great 4K find at just under $1,500, which is really low for a 4K projector. It's tuned in the factory for the best color output you can find, and it shows right out of the box. This projector offers truly great color accuracy. BenQ makes really great projectors, and that's true here in the BenQ HT3550.
